What are your plans for Halloween Night? Will you be trick-or-treating, watching movies, worshiping the Elder Gods at hidden altars in underground shrines, or relishing the last few hours of chaos before you have to return your pumpkin head and become incorporeal for another year? Me, I plan on reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, dressing up like a monster to terrorize the neighborhood kids who come to the door seeking candy, and then watching a bunch of horror movies. If you'd like to know which movies I'll be watching, you'll find a whole list of my seasonal favorites--movies and books--at the back of my collection DEAD LEAVES.
And speaking of that book, all this week on The Other Stories Podcast, you can listen to some chilling Halloween horror stories by a whole host of authors, culminating in a superb production of my story "The One Night of the Year" from DEAD LEAVES, which will air on October 31st. So, when you're done with your druidic rituals and Samhain spellbinding, why not check it out?
